Mohamed Salah Issues Regret to Liverpool Dressing Room, Reveals Curtis Jones
Curtis Jones has revealed that Salah apologised to the entire Liverpool squad in the wake of the uproar from his public comments.
The Incident
Salah was left out from a key Champions League match following voicing frustrations and suggesting his rapport with Arne Slot had deteriorated.
“Salah is an individual and he can say his own stuff,” the midfielder said. “He apologised to us and was like: ‘If my words hurt anyone, please accept my apology.’”
Arne Slot has previously declined to comment publicly on whether he was apologised to from the player.
Team Unity
He emphasized that the dressing room atmosphere was unchanged. “Nothing about him changed, he had a big smile on his face and it was business as usual,” Jones added.
He also suggested that a competitor wanting to play is a positive trait. “It's clear there are different methods you can express yourself,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just sit out, then I think that’s concerning.”
Positive Results
The team's performance have stayed unbeaten in the period after the initial controversy. Jones believes the outburst were not intended to destabilise the squad.
“If passion has boiled over, it has consistently come from a desire to win,” Jones concluded. “It's behind us and we’re gelling well as a team, performing and on a positive run.”
